Nikhar, first of all, I apologize for the length of this message, but I wanted to layout exactly what I did to again try getting Windows 10 Home working on my Dell desktop PC my house. In answer to your question about how I created the installation media, I used the Media Creation Tool and selected the USB option, but my computer didn't recognize it on bootup; it was connected to a bootable USB port but, even with the USB drive set as the first boot option, it didn't recognize it.
At the time, I hadn't thought about pressing F12 to access the boot menu and select it from there. That got me to where I will now show the steps I took to try to get it working:.
I then followed your suggestion re. Windows installation cannot proceed. Shortly afterward, another box came up which contained the text "A fatal error occurred while trying to sysprep the machine. The circling dots resumed under the centered Windows logo. The system restarted. Note that the USB installation media remained unconnected to the computer. I closed the Commsnd Prompt window. I let it go through that entire process. It rebooted and said Getting ready along with the circling dots.
That gets you updated as to where things stand right now. I'm really hoping to avoid going back to Linux, so I really do hope that this can be made to work - somehow. Do you have any other suggestions that might result in Windows 10 Home being able to be successfully reinstalled on my Dell desktop PC? Just now, I tried twice more.
